About
Danielle Figueiredo, M.A.
Registered Psychotherapist
Welcome, I’m Danielle (She/Her)! I support folks who are wanting to reconnect with their values and move towards living a life that is meaningful and authentic to them. I do not see myself as here to “fix” someone, as I do not see people as “broken”. I bring curiosity, openness, and non-judgement into the therapy space and aim to create a safe container to be with and explore emotions. I have a particular interest in working with individuals who are wanting to deepen their relationship with self and others and are struggling to understand their emotions and needs. They may also be compassionate and understanding towards their loved ones and struggle to take in or give that same compassion to themselves.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist, authorized for independent practice, with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#9124). I have experience in private practice as well as various community settings. I engage in ongoing training and professional development and I receive clinical supervision from Bonney Elliott, a Registered Psychotherapist (#1865).
In my spare time you will find me sewing, reading, going on hikes with my dog, and tending to my one too many plants.
Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to best meet your unique needs. I often draw upon the following therapies and techniques within my work: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and self-compassion.
It is deeply important to me to create a space where you can feel comfortable, respected, and empowered. I believe that you are the expert of your own experiences and I aim to support you in connecting with your values, hopes, and resilience. I practice from a trauma-informed, strength-based, and anti-oppressive framework. My practice welcomes individuals of diverse gender identities, sexualities, relationship orientations, and cultural backgrounds.
